Many people help me out in an average week. My neighbors offer aid when my car breaks down or my lawn mower acts up. Co-workers pitch in to assist me to complete a project that vexes me. And family members jump in to help me finish painting a room or cleaning the yard.
When those around me do things for me, I take notice of it and express my appreciation right away. Letting people know how much I appreciate them comes naturally for me.
I engage in many ways of expressing my appreciation to others. I make eye contact and say, “Thank you.” I remark, “I appreciate what you do” or “That’s wonderful.” My feelings are heartfelt and genuine.
I mean what I say when I demonstrate my appreciation toward others.
I feel pride in knowing that I can make others happy by showing my gratitude for them. They can tell how much it means to me when they do something for my benefit.
Today, I know I can easily share my appreciation with those who help me in some way. I stay in tune with those around me so I can always notice when they take steps to assist me. Expressing my appreciation sincerely and in a timely manner is important to me.
