Diligent gardening is rewarded with beautiful flowers and delicious vegetables. My mind requires the same kind of tending to remain happy and at peace. I work with the conditions I have at hand. Some spots are sunnier than others. Different plants thrive in different zones. Skillful responses enable me to succeed in a variety of environments.
I plant annuals and perennials. Some practices lead to short term beauty and others create lasting endowments. I celebrate both.
Just as plants set down roots, my mind also needs to feel secure and supported.
I regard myself with compassion.
Weeding removes obstructions. I clear away weeds, as well as rocks and debris to make room for my plants. To enable positive thoughts, I say goodbye to distractions and grudges.
I prune on a regular basis. I trim the rough edges and prevent clutter. I act quickly to head off bad habits. I refine my performance all the time.
I design paths. Walkways provide a sense of order. They lead me from one stage to the next. They help me to focus on my vision.
Everything needs nourishment. Water and food promote growth. I keep my mind in top shape with meaningful work and sufficient relaxation. I develop my talents and get plenty of sleep.
Today, I cultivate the garden of my mind. I invite friends over. I want butterflies and my loved ones to share in my garden. I look forward to a harvest of joy and contentment.
