Having patience means that I allow others the time and space to do whatever it is they seek to do.

Exercising patience consistently builds my character and increases my perseverance and stamina in future situations.

Patience is a virtue that I have endeavored to develop over all the adult years of my life. Because life seems to propel us forward with a sense of urgency, focusing on the development of patience is important to me. I take care not to rush others. And I also see the value of being patient with myself.

Life provides many opportunities for me to demonstrate patience. I show perseverance and stamina when dealing with others on a day-to-day basis.

If I feel tense in a social situation, I tell myself to take a deep breath. Then, I ask myself, “What is my goal in this situation?” I am reminded of the necessity and virtue of exhibiting patience at such times.

Discovering and cultivating my patience is a wonderful adventure for me. I approach all challenging situations as chances to practice this skill. I realize that the more I “practice” patience, the better I get at being patient.

Today, I choose to rededicate my efforts toward cultivating patience. I plan to show this virtue to myself and to those around me. I feel satisfied with my capacity for patience.
